The IOTA MOVEATHON Hackathon is Here!

The IOTA Foundation introduces IOTA MOVEATHON, a global hackathon series that invites developers to build on the IOTA network using the Move programming language and the Move VM. Beginning with the APAC region and offering over $150,000 in prizes, the initiative aims to stimulate innovation across sectors including payments, tokenization, decentralized AI finance (DeF(A)i), and blockchain tooling, which shows IOTA as a strong alternative for scalable, feeless and intelligent Web3 applications.

Move Language Comes to IOTA: The adoption of Move unlocks modular smart contract development on IOTA, expanding the network’s capabilities in security, composability, and programmability.
Multidisciplinary Tracks: The hackathon’s focus spans real-world commerce, DeFi + AI integration, consumer applications, and infrastructure tooling, encouraging cross-domain innovation.

Participating in the IOTA MOVEATHON provides hands-on experience in deploying Move-based smart contracts for high-impact applications.
